he purpose of the project was to develop a Rich Kiosk Desktop interface based on web application configuration focusing on Building Directory, Leasing Information and any Specific Information of the building.


Project Description

The purpose of the project was to develop a Rich Kiosk Desktop interface based on web application configuration focusing on Building Directory, Leasing Information and any Specific Information of the building. The purpose behind he SRS document was to describe the resources and management of those resources used in the development of the OFFICESELECT KIOSK application. This SRS was further provide details regarding the functional and performance related requirements of the OFFICESELECT KIOSK application. The KIOSK purpose was to direct (guide) the visitors, provide the information of the building with touch screen facility. This document was a preliminary SRS that was prepared during the early stages of the project and was being used as a case study.

Capability Analysis :

We categorized the main menu of the kiosk application in the following manner.

  1. Building Directory: Clicking on building directory button displays the keyboard with the browse type categories.
  2. Browse by Company: Displays information with alphabets range as buttons, Clicking on which displays the list of companies with that letter order by company name
  3. Browse by Individual: Displays information with alphabets range as buttons, Clicking on which displays the list of individuals with that letter and order by alphabatical order
  4. Browse by sub building:Displays information of subbuildings for a given building, Clicking on which displays the selection from and information about the building.
  5. Broswe by business type: Displays information of all the business categories in building with the button format, clicking on which displays the information of categorie with floor and suite numbers.
  6. Area Map: Displays thewasa map of the building and surroundings
  7. Amenities List: Displays list of amenities

    Transportation
    Exits
    Hotels
  8. Building Management: Adding , updating , deleting any company to the building, any individual to the companywasdone.
  9. Security:Login for the application
  10. Lease: Space information by contact, location, building, services, rent

Web Admin

  1. Home Page
    This feature enables to modify content of the Home page using CMS Tool.
  2. Admin
    This feature enables to enter into the application by providing username and password for admin user.

    This feature enables admin to manage buildings, sub buildings, amenities, amenity members , location of the amenties, allcoation of amenities and managing kiosks
  4. Manage Users
    This feature enables admin to manage the kiosk users. Approve registration for kiosks

    Main home page of the application.

    This feature enables to enter into the application by providing username and password.
  3. My Account
    This feature enables to update the details of the client.
  4. Products
    This feature enables the client to see a list of products and product information from office select

    This feature displays the profile of the company

Technology Architecture

The core technologies used in the application was Director mx 2004, VB.Net ,Asp.net with MS SQL Server 2000 on Windows 2000 server.

Kiosk Web Admin (&User): These applications were developed with Asp.net as front end and sql server as back end. Asp.net application was configured with data access layer ,business layer and presentation layer. Forms Authentication was used for both web admin and web user applications. Application provides the online updating the source of kiosk desktop, It allows script file to run on the web server for accessing the back end.

Kiosk Desktop: This application was developed with Director and vb.net as front end where text files, folders and mysql acts as source of back end. Data synchronization with web admin was achieved through execution of script files.
